Floaters: What are those "mosquitoes" in front of your eyes all about?On a clear day, you look up at the sky;
In bright light, you stare at the computer or phone screen;
On well-lit paper, you read books or documents;
On sunny days, you drive;
If you notice some small black dots, wavy lines, or spiderweb-like clumps floating in your field of vision—
this is called floaters.
01. Discovering Floaters
Floaters, medically known as vitreous opacities or vitreous floaters.
They are the black dots, fine lines, spiderwebs, circles, or tiny bugs that appear in your field of vision when you move your eyes.
They drift with eye movement and quickly escape when you try to focus on them.
In fact, these are not real mosquitoes or dust, but shadows cast on the retina after changes occur in the vitreous inside the eyeball.
